Finally!

After a lot of annoying attempts to record some music, I have finally found a setup, time, and the patience to record.

I'm working right now, each and every day, to finish my first CD - Origins

Be Positive... PDF Print E-mail

A large portion on the US population likes to be negative and will jump from person to person and idea to idea and reshape it in a way that looks dismal and bleak. They'll tell you that the government is out to get you and they there are numerous cover ups and conspiracies all designed to fool you.

It really sounds silly when I listen to people say things like the health care revamp will create death panels and cause you to choose which child you'll be forced to eat on public television. It's really that crazy and there are people who latch on to these crazy ideas and run with them like a track star. No proof is needed, merely someone telling them so is enough - these are dangerous people and they're the ones who want to wait on a mountain top for time to end and their magical invisible friend will come to save them and their like.

Power to the Iranian People PDF Print E-mail

It is a completely inspiring and motivating experience to see what is now unfolding in Iran. The people are mad and hopefully won't stand for a dictatorship any longer. Times like this make us realize that it's still bad out there - North Korea has killed millions of its own people, starving and torturing, yet that prick still has power.

Looking for musicians... PDF Print E-mail

I'm to the point that I'm ready to start playing music again - with other people! I had a nasty wreck 2 years ago and I'm fully recovered and have my finger strength back and better than ever.

What I'm looking to do is find a few people who play drums, bass, maybe another guitar or so and do a few projects. I would love to have one band that does it all but seldom is that easy to find; most people just like to play one style or keep things focused within a particular genre - I do not. I like to do most rock style music but I also love instrumental acoustic and ambient music as well as electronica and heavy stuff.

I don't care for Death Metal per se - nor any other type of heavy music where you can't understand the singing - this is important to me because if the singer just growls there's no point to having words people cannot understand. The singer just becomes a soloist growler and that is my opinion. I don't want to slam anyone who likes that sort of thing - there are some bands like that I do dig, but it's not what I want to do with my music.

What I want is to do 3 basic projects:

First is a heavy, thick, distorted 80's style thrash metal LP - 10 or so songs that embrace the character of what made that genre great in my opinion. I will play guitar/lead and would like a killer drummer and bass player to join me - as for the vocals - I can sing but I would prefer someone who can really do it well. I have a few name ideas for the project and the one I like the most is: Ogre Nuts

That name will kind of characterize some silly and funny bits and also the heavy themes that graced many an 80's thrash band.

Secondly I want to do an instrumental acoustic / clean type intrumental project that has lots of catchy and creative backing with some complimentary melodies on top.

Thirdly will be a straight out rock and roll type project with full songs and maybe even some keyboards.

More to come...

I try to read news, and watch (damn tv) it, where it's not all role based political dribble. The alternatives lead me to specific news sites and I really have to dig around to get the picture of the current state of affairs in the world. Sure, this can yield a much more in depth and non-biased angle on any issue, but it takes a lot of time to do it. My favorite sites tend to be scientific news as it lends itself more readily to a positive sense, a feeling of accomplishment, and even progress! I like that 'we're moving forward feeling.
