A large portion on the US population likes to be negative and will jump from person to person and idea to idea and reshape it in a way that looks dismal and bleak. They'll tell you that the government is out to get you and they there are numerous cover ups and conspiracies all designed to fool you. It really sounds silly when I listen to people say things like the health care revamp will create death panels and cause you to choose which child you'll be forced to eat on public television. It's really that crazy and there are people who latch on to these crazy ideas and run with them like a track star. No proof is needed, merely someone telling them so is enough - these are dangerous people and they're the ones who want to wait on a mountain top for time to end and their magical invisible friend will come to save them and their like.
The fact that fiction rules our entertainment shows me that people prefer fiction over reality, willingly. I'm not completely putting that down because I do so love a good story or movie and have quite a collection of my favorites. What I see however is a large portion of people who take that to the next level and really believe anything they hear as long as it contains their religion or political party. Don't forget that we're all still Americans and live in the same country and live together! We shouldn't be so fast to fight our own neighbor or even people elsewhere in this country. It's pretty damn mad if you think about it. Drop that us versus them attitude and try to embrace each other and help out. You know if we all work together and have a little patience, the economy will come back, jobs will come back, new opportunities and new technologies will grow and change the country we know for the better. We have to move on to some type of better health care system that really helps people and is NOT for a profit. Covering everyone will immediately have a huge positive impact on the economy and help mold the future grow. We have to set aside these silly road blocks people are latching on to and let it happen - it will be to the benefit of everyone. And you smarter Republicans should bail on your party and do something different. Your party doesn't want anything to happen other than continued campaign contributions; They clearly don't give a shit about you, quit voting for them just because they say Jesus too much. It would really help the overall attitude of everyone, everywhere, if people would try to find the good and positive in everything they experience. I know that's impossible, but if we shoot for something huge and we don't hit it, we still do something really good overall. I don't think this could be a big enough goal, but imagine if every single person on the planet suddenly decided to get along and be happy and positive and helpful to each other? It would be weird... but welcome :) Brent |
